In response to your inquiry regarding the definition of “freshly investigated reports,” FCIB responds as follows:

What “Freshly Investigated” Means to FCIB

We identify the best sources of information from local “on the ground” suppliers with whom we have established relationships. In providing “freshly investigated” worldwide credit reports, FCIB abides by the following procedures:

•	Ensuring all information is validated by conducting telephone interviews of the subject companies.
•	Calling local government sources to ensure verification of trade licenses and registrations.
•	Contacting trade and bank references supplied on the order.

We trust that this clarifies the position of FCIB on the interpretation of “freshly investigated” reports.

What “Freshly Investigated” Means to FCIB

In response to our post with the title ‘Credit Information: Customers turn competitors’, the Association for Executives in Finance, Credit and International Business (FCIB) sent the following explanation:
The FCIB identifies the best sources of information from a local “on the ground” suppliers with whom FCIB has established relationships. In providing “freshly investigated” worldwide credit reports, FCIB abides by the following procedures:
•	Ensuring all information is validated by conducting telephone interviews of the subject companies
•	Calling local government sources to ensure verification of trade licenses and registrations
•	Contacting trade and bank references supplied on the order

BIIA appreciates the clarification of the term ‘freshly investigated’ credit reports as it applies to FCIB. This precise statement is welcome because in a recent discussion on the BIIA Business Information Industry Association Network Group on LinkedIn, the responses on what “freshly investigated” means ranged from one day to six months.

This is further evidence of Experian's aspiration to build a market leading position in the provision of credit management and fraud prevention services in the US Healthcare Market. If it can exploit the synergies that exist between Search America, MPV, and its Consumer and Business credit information businesses and the expertise it has in Decision Analytics, it could potentially dominate the provision of services in this vertical market. Success however will depend on management's ability to create an integrated proposition and go to market strategy combining the best of the acquired businesses and its core capabilities.

Dear William,
I suggest you contact the FCIB (www.fcibglobal.com) or their parent the NACM. They are running credit circles on a regular basis. Off the cuff I do not know whether they have one on the automotive industry.
Best regards
Joachim C Bartels
