Connotate, Inc., provider of Web data extraction and monitoring solutions, announced that Laura Teller has joined the company as its first Chief Strategy Officer.  In that role, she will be responsible for developing and executing the company’s product and marketing strategies.

“There are over 700 million websites globally today, containing an almost immeasurable amount of valuable data on markets, competitors, products, and much more. But it’s quite hard to extract this data efficiently, continuously, and at scale, so it remains largely untapped and underutilized,” said Teller. ”I joined Connotate because I believe the company’s machine learning science and technology goes beyond mere web scraping to solve this problem — and thereby unleash the power of the web — in a new and far better way.”

Before joining Connotate, Teller was Chief Strategy Officer of Opera Solutions, a 600-employee company that uses machine learning to find predictive patterns in big data. Prior to Opera Solutions, she was president and founder of TellerGroup Consulting for 20 years, working with clients ranging from media and financial services to consumer goods companies.
