Global5,000, which is probably the World’s smallest, but unique marketing database, is reporting the latest changes in its database.

During Q1 2017 Global5,000 added 54 new companies to the database and deleted 70 records primarily due to M&A activity.  Also, during the quarter, 1,688 records were updated.  The currency level of the database now exceeds 98% — meaning over 98% of the records have been updated in the past 12 months.

One major activity with this update was a revision of the Industries and Segments fields.  There are 22 Industries with159 segments. An example of an industry is Health Care with segments including: Health Care Providers; Medical Products & Equipment; Pharma & Biotech; and Health Care Plans

There have been some interesting requests and recent selections in Q1 from the set of Global 5000 companies including:

  • Private Companies – we have nearly 1,000
  • All companies not part of the Forbes Global 2000 list (we over 3,100)
  • Companies in emerging market countries – 1,070
  • All electronic manufacturers — 510
