For the first time in six years the BIIA website has suffered a service breakdown from September 10th to September 14th 2012. The BIIA Web service provider GoDaddy.com experienced a service failure on 9/10 which affected over 5 million websites including www.biia.com. Content on the BIIA website was lost going back to May 11 involving approximately 500 posts. The BIIA website was restored on 09/14. GoDaddy.com stated in a press release that the outage was due to a series of internal network events that corrupted router data tables. It was not an external attack as previously reported. The company stated that it had implemented measures to prevent this from occurring again.
BIIA finds the time span of four days to fix the BIIA website entirely unacceptable.
