BIIA Technology Forum
Register to join the new BIIA Technology Forum
Dear Members,
The Fourth Industrial Revolution, also known as Industry 4.0 or 4IR, has ushered in an era of unprecedented technological advancements that are profoundly influencing all aspects of the global economy. The rapid adoption of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain and quantum computing are expected to transform the economy, society, government and environment of countries worldwide.
For the credit reporting and business information industries, understanding these technological shifts and how the innovation they create will impact the current business models is critical to ensuring sustainable growth. For regulators it presents a significant challenge in trying to achieve a balance between facilitating the adoption of these new technologies to help stimulate economic growth whilst ensuring that individuals and businesses are protected.
To keep abreast of the changes and their impact BIIA is convening for its members a Technology Forum.
The objectives of the Forum are:
- To share/discuss the latest technology developments that are taking place globally
- To share and discuss the impact of the technology developments on the credit reporting and business information industries
- To share/discuss regulatory developments that will impact the adoption/use of new technology
- To identify technology developments that should be shared with the BIIA membership via the Industry and Regulatory newsletters, webinars and BIIA events such as the annual conference and senior leadership forum.
The Forum will be jointly chaired by Neil Munroe, Managing Director, BIIA and David Warlock, Board Member, BIIA. David is one of the founding members of BIIA and takes an active interest in the impact of new technology on data strategy. BIIA will providing the secretariat support for the Forum.
Membership of the Forum is open to Full Members with up to two representatives from each Full Member allowed to attend the meetings. There is no charge for participating in the Forum. Members are expected to cover any costs they incur in attending meetings of the Forum or carrying out any work for the Forum.
The Forum will aim to meet at least three times during the year and meetings will take place virtually and all discussions will be undertaken under ‘Chatham House’ rules.
