Agreement paves way for standardized credit scoring and simplified CIC compliance

Two of the largest rural banking organizations in the country, the Confederation of Southern Tagalog Rural Bankers (CSTRB) and the Confederation of Central Luzon Rural Banks (CCLRB), recently partnered with CIBI Information Inc.™, the first Filipino credit bureau, to adopt CIBI Infoexchange, a service that promises to standardize credit scoring in the Philippines. The partnership was officiated in a ceremonial signing last June 5 at Edsa Shangri-La in Mandaluyong City.

This partnership will help members of CSTRB and CCLRB improve its credit evaluation and on-boarding process through faster and more informed decision making as well as minimizing risks of fraud.

Credit scoring is a method used around the world and is executed by gathering necessary credit information to assess whether a person or institution is likely to pay as agreed or if one should extend them credit.

CIBI Infoexchange promises value-added service to the members by providing credit data information while offering a simplified compliance service to organizations that use it. In the case of CSTRB and CCLRB, they are mandated by law to adhere to requirements set by the Credit Information Corporation as members of the Rural Bankers Association of the Philippines.
