CoreLogic, formerly known as RP Data, is the leading property and data analytics provider in Australia and New Zealand with over 20,000 customers and 120,000 end users. Founded in 1991, the real estate data provider serves business customers from sectors such as banking, wealth management, insurance and real estate, to government agencies and consumer investments.

Over the course of Australia’s property boom, CoreLogic required a solution to effectively manage the growing 600 data sources threatening to overwhelm its ageing data management architecture.  They turned to Commvault to help transform its business model into the cloud, cut innovation cycle times, and deliver actionable data insights to customers through new products and services.

“Data is our lifeblood. Without our data – and strategies to protect it – we fundamentally have no business and are unable to provide the accurate insights our customers expect,” Jansz says. “Since the property boom, our data has grown exponentially every year. As a result, we knew we had to come up with effective ways to back up data and re-use it – something that had become both critical and difficult.”

To accelerate its migration to cloud, CoreLogic implemented Commvault’s platform as a service to support its disaster recovery strategy. With the new solution in place, CoreLogic has been able to release resources back into higher-value areas in its business and speed the shift away from rigid tape backups to more agile processes.

Jansz says CoreLogic will accelerate new product releases to capture market momentum by using the cloud as its data foundation. While cloud is now the “launchpad” for technology that traditionally required a big investment, he pins his hopes on cloud to keep pace with growth, drive efficiencies and lower costs by replacing tape backups by 2018.
