Extensive Database Links with Public Record Data from CoreLogic to Provide Crucial Insight on Property Conditions and Aid in Risk Analysis
CoreLogic® (NYSE: CLGX) announced that its nationwide Building Permit Database has surpassed over 28 million residential, commercial and industrial building permits and now tracks more than 35 permit types, covering 65 percent of the U.S. residential and commercial market.
The Building Permit Database provides users access to comprehensive improvement data in a standardized format. The database also uses Assessor Parcel Numbers (APNs), as well as standard addresses and latitude/longitude—all industry norms for property identification—to easily link to other CoreLogic property and mortgage datasets. This integration allows users to gain visibility into all relevant property and property transaction details related to a specific building permit or property improvement. The Building Permit Database and the linkage provides property intelligence necessary to assess risk and opportunity to a variety of industry stakeholders, including appraisers, direct marketers, homebuyers, lenders, realtors, property insurers, servicers and secondary market participants.
“Building permit data can provide critical insights into a variety of purchasing, marketing, financial and risk decisions,” said Randy Wussler, vice president, product general manager at CoreLogic. “Our database and standardized reporting makes accessing and consuming the information easier. It can also be validated and enhanced by integrating with other public property data to deliver customized solutions.”
