Wiermanski 200Credit Reporting and Scoring Expert Chet Wiermanski Joins BIIA as a Contributing Editor.  David Worlock, Chairman of BIIA stated:  “We are pleased to have Chet Wiermanski on board as contributing editor and having answered our call for volunteers to contribute their expertise for the younger generation and for the benefit of our industry as a whole.”

Chet Wiermanski is a Visiting Scholar at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia researching new applications of consumer credit report information. He is currently exploring the use of aggregate consumer credit information to estimate local economic conditions.  Additionally, Chet is Managing Director of Aether Analytics which specializes on leveraging hidden data sequences and time series components within consumer credit information typically ignored by traditional credit bureau based solutions. Aether Analytics provides advice and counsel to several financial institutions.  In this capacity Chet is a member of Black Oak Partner’s Advisory Board assisting them with the creation of new and innovative products and services involving credit scoring and data analysis.

Previously Chet was the Global Chief Scientist at TransUnion LLC. Holding a variety of positions within TransUnion, during his tenure, between July 1987 and February 2012, he was responsible for identifying, evaluating and developing new technology platforms involving alternative data sources, predictive modeling, econometric forecasting and related consulting services. Under his leadership TransUnion introduced generic and custom credit scoring and decision management systems for consumer lending, insurance, telecommunications, collections and mortgage underwriting. A pioneer in credit bureau based credit risk evaluation systems, under his leadership TransUnion became a leading provider generic and custom analytic solutions, business intelligence information and event based decision management platforms in the United States, Canada, India, Mexico, South Africa, and Thailand.

Recognized as an expert on credit reporting and credit scoring Mr. Wiermanski has testified twice before the U.S. congress and is frequently invited to speak at industry and government conferences on consumer credit reporting, credit scoring and the benefits associated with full file reporting of public utility and telecommunication information to credit bureaus.

Chet earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Marquette University in 1979 and a Masters in Business administration in 1981 from Loyola University Chicago.
