Small Business Health Index Offers Perspectives on Small Business Success in Recognition of National Small Business Week

Measured by D&B’s Small Business Health Index (SBHI), D&B’s unique index that looks at the overall strength of the small business sector, the sector has improved to pre-recessionary strength, an important development given the fact that two out of every three new jobs in the U.S. are created by small businesses. An important driver has been the substantial strengthening of their financial health due to proactive initiatives they have undertaken. Other D&B proprietary analytics reveal that more than seven million small businesses are financially well positioned while one-third of all small businesses have a low risk of business failure in the next twelve months.
