Experian, Equifax, TransUnion Revised Consumer Class Deal OK’d
- Discharged debts wrongly included on credit reports, suit alleges
- Second deal worth $38.7 million affirmed; fees need another look
Experian Information Systems Inc., TransUnion LLC, and Equifax Information Services LLC will pay $38.7 million to resolve a consumer class action over errors on credit reports, after the Ninth Circuit affirmed the second version of the settlement.
But the attorneys’ fee award of $8.3 million needs another look, the Ninth Circuit said in a Dec. 12 unpublished opinion.
This is the case’s fourth trip to the appeals court over 14 years of litigation.
