As indicated in recent issues of the BIIA newsletter, most business information company revenues have gone into negative territory.  There are notable exceptions such as China’s Alibaba and China Finance Online, CRISIL in India and BISNODE which has become the largest B2B information services provider in Europe (2008 Revenues of Euro 422 million).

The industry is waiting with baited breath to see how the first half of 2009 is shaping up, which should provide an indication whether the downward trend will persist during the year of 2009.   Recently SCHUFA, Germany’s largest credit bureau has registered a 30% increase in credit inquiries, due to consumer reaction to incentives and consumer product discounting.  Source:  Company reports
