Mumbai: The Financial Times, which recently ended its partnership with the Business Standard in India, will launch a new financial daily with Network 18. The new Financial Times-Network 18 title is expected to be available by the end of 2008. Jaideep Bose, executive editor of The Times of India, is rumored to have been hired as editor of the new publication.

The announcement officially ends the relationship between the Financial Times and the Business Standard. Infina Finance Private Ltd., a subsidiary of Kotak Mahindra Group, has reportedly purchased the 13.85% stake of Business Standard previously held by the Financial Times which paid US$3.5 million for the stake in the September 2003 deal.
