India: AIRTEL Data Center Hit by Major Fire Causing Service Disruptions for Information Providers

Airtel has reported a major fire in their Malad data centre, which has impacted their data and cellular network. Airtel’s official Twitter account – Airtel_Presence – tweeted, “Some Airtel customers may be experiencing connectivity issues due to an unforeseen technical outage on some circuits in Western region…”

According to reports, due to fire in Bharti office, Blackberry and voice services are affected. No definite timeline has been given for the resolution of the problem.

The Indian credit information supplier MIRA Inform located at Malad, Mumbai informed its clients today that its phone lines are out due to this fire.
