BIIA monitors company announcement of acquisitions, partnerships, internal product developments and international expansion. We report our findings in 6 month intervals and annually.
In the year 2019 BIIA covered 971 industry announcements of which 322 announcements dealt with acquisitions (74), partnerships (118), internal product development (106 and international expansion (24). In the past three years the total count of announcements in the category of acquisitions, partnerships, internal product development and international expansion was much lower.
From the above chart one can draw the conclusion that investments rank high in analytics, identity, consumer and business data. One item stands out quite prominently: BIIA has detected a significant uptick in partnerships and internal product development of what BIIA defines as the ‘identity’ segment (AML / KYC / onboarding / identification and authentication services).
