Dun & Bradstreet (D&B), a global provider of business decisioning data and analytics, has appointed James Harrison as Global Head of Insurance.

Harrison joined D&B in 2020 as UKI Head of Insurance, a role he held for over two years before his new appointment. During this time he focused on helping clients use data and analytics to navigate the current environment, identify opportunities for growth, and to achieve their competitive edge.

He joined the firm at a vital time, as the COVID-19 pandemic was accelerating the need for digital transformation across the insurance industry.

In an interview with Reinsurance News, as the world emerged from the pandemic in 2021, Harrison highlighted the opportunity for the re/insurance industry to accelerate its transformation through investments into digital and data technologies for the benefit of both carriers and clients.

In a prior interview, he discussed the challenges re/insurers face when it comes to handling data and what they need to do in order to fully take advantage of it.

Before joining D&B, Harrison served as Manager of Digital Insurance at Deloitte, as well as Financial Services Strategy and Consulting Manager at Accenture. While at Accenture, where he served for over four years, he also held the role of UK InsurTech Lead, and Financial Services Consultant.

Earlier in his career, he spent over three years with Miller Insurance Services having joined the company in 2013 as part of its Graduate Scheme before being appointed Upstream Energy broker.
