Engberding EOSGenerational change at the helm of EOS Group: Klaus Engberding to become CEO

Klaus Engberding will take over the CEO position of the international leading provider of receivables management effective 1 March 2017.  Hans-Werner Scherer, the current long-time CEO, will be retiring.

Klaus Engberding is described as a very dynamic and internationally experienced manager with an eye on future opportunities.  He is currently responsible for the German market within the Group and has taken a leading role in the digital transformation of the business.   Following studies in business administration, with subsequent positions at Hüsch & Partner management consulting and at Tengelmann Group, Engberding set out on his career with the Otto Group in 2000 as a member of the board of directors of the former OBI@OTTO joint venture. Since then, Engberding expanded EOS Group’s Eastern European business at operational level before assuming responsibility for Eastern Europe on the EOS Board. Since 2008 he has been responsible for Germany, the Group’s biggest market with 46% of total sales.

Kropp Andreas EOSAndreas Kropp has been appointed Board member responsible for the German market. The 48-year-old business manager held the role of Commercial Manager of OBI@OTTO from 2003 and in 2007 became Head of the Division Management Eastern Europe for EOS, before becoming Managing Director of EOS Deutschland in 2009.
