The move embeds credit scoring tools into a widely used consumer app as Malaysia pushes for stronger financial literacy.

Malaysians can now check their credit reports on Grab following a new partnership with Credit Bureau Malaysia, with no separate download required.

The integration gives users access to CBM’s MyScore Report, a personalised credit scoring tool designed to help individuals and businesses assess their credit profile.

The rollout comes amid continued national focus on financial literacy and inclusion under the Malaysia National Strategy for Financial Literacy 2026 to 2030.

Broader access to credit information is expected to support gig workers, micro-entrepreneurs and younger earners who may have limited visibility over their credit health.

Evan Cheah, Deputy President of Sunway Group and Chairman of CBM“The collaboration between CBM and Grab will ensure credit insights are easily accessible on an established platform that is used and trusted by millions of Malaysians.

This collaboration marks an important milestone in CBM’s long-term commitment to empower Malaysian MSMEs and individuals, in line with Sunway’s aspiration of nation building,”

said Evan Cheah, Deputy President of Sunway Group and Chairman of CBM.

Credit Bureau Malaysia is jointly owned by Sunway Group and Credit Guarantee Corporation Malaysia Berhad.

It was the first credit reporting agency granted access to Bank Negara Malaysia’s Central Credit Reference Information System and provides credit data and analytics to individuals, MSMEs and financial institutions.

“Welcoming Credit Bureau Malaysia as our first Malaysian partner app reflects our commitment to making financial information more accessible, helping individuals better understand their credit standing and make informed decisions that support their wellbeing.

By enabling seamless access to CBM’s services within the Grab app, without the need for multiple downloads, we are strengthening the digital financial ecosystem for our customers as well as driver-, delivery-, and merchant-partners, in line with broader national finance digitalisation goals,”

said Tan Jiong Jian, Director of Commercial and Deliveries, Grab Malaysia.
