Michael TurnerPERC president and CEO Dr. Michael Turner testified before the U.S. House of Representatives Subcommittee on the Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit. The hearing, “Examining the Uses of Consumer Credit Data,” was held to discuss issues related to credit reporting agencies and credit scores.

It was also held in part to discuss new legislation on which Representatives Jim Renacci (R-OH) and Keith Ellison (D-MN) are working.  The Credit Access and Inclusion Act (HR 6363) will permit energy utility and telecoms firms to fully report customer payment data to nationwide consumer reporting agencies, should they choose to do so.
