Sanoma Pro sells its B2B business to Talentum.  The transaction supports Sanoma’s strategy according to which Sanoma Pro focuses on developing and producing learning solutions.  Sanoma Pro and Talentum have signed the agreement on 20 March 2014 and the transfer of the business is planned for Thursday 1 May 2014.

Sanoma Pro’s B2B operations produce up-to-date digital and training services and publish business books for professionals in the fields of taxation, financial administration, law and supervisory work.  The most important digital services included in the business are Fokus and Verkkokirjahylly.  As part of the transaction, 24 employees will transfer to Talentum as existing employees.  Net sales for the sold business totaled around EUR 4 million in 2013.

“The strategy of Sanoma Pro is to focus on the production of learning solutions, and divesting B2B business is a part of this development.  We are the leading provider of learning solutions in Finland and the frontrunner in development of digital learning solutions. We want to sharpen our focus on providing the best multi-channel solutions and high-quality learning materials to our customers,” says Anja Kahri, Director, Professional Solutions at Sanoma Pro.

“The product portfolio to be transferred will increase the diversity of our offering and our customer base will expand. The acquisition enables Talentum to significantly strengthen its position as Finland’s leading publisher of professional content in the book and training market,” says Lasse Rosengren, Talentum’s Deputy CEO.
