Representation & Advocacy
BIIA works with regulatory bodies and it‘s members via its community to advocate for policies that encourage innovation and sustainable growth of the information and credit bureau ecosystems.
Globally
- Founding member of the International Committee on Credit Reporting (ICCR) – the standard setting body for the credit reporting and business information industry supported by the World Bank Group.
- Neil Munroe Managing Director, BIIA is Deputy Chair of the Committee (since 2019).
- BIIA took an active role in creation of the standards – ‘Principles of Credit Reporting’ released in 2011 and has participated in the development of all of the subsequent policy and research documents that have been issued by the Committee.
- BIIA creates member working groups to respond to ICCR policy and research activity.
Regionally
- BIIA acts as the secretariat of the ICCR Asia Pacific Regional Consultative Group established to facilitate a dialogue and exchange of information between the industry and regulatory bodies in the region.
- BIIA works with its members in helping share best practices in other countries with their local governments and regulators.
