Veda and Equifax Company 100Veda announced the launch of Mint Australia, a comprehensive online repository of dynamically updated business information.  Part of the Mint Global family, Mint Australia allows companies to draw relevant insights and prospects from complex data sets, and access high-quality information on both private and public companies.

Mint Global is the leading tool used internationally to develop and analyse new business opportunities, and is a Bureau van Dijk (BvD) initiative. Mint’s existing global capability will be augmented in the Australian market using local Veda data, offering businesses a breadth and depth of information substantially greater and more accessible than previously available.

Brad Walters, Veda’s Head of Product and Rating Services, said Mint Australia would be invaluable to Veda’s clients in the ever-changing digital age. The strength of BvD’s systems capability, with the breadth and depth of Veda’s company data, is a perfect combination for customers to gain invaluable insights.

“We understand the importance of being able to easily identify and utilise data connections, industry trends and financial insights, and have worked hard to develop a leading capability to support clients in meeting their objectives.  “This decision has come after months of research into online information systems and solutions. We chose to partner with BvD because Mint Australia will provide our customers access to a market leading business portal, used by executives around the world to filter masses of accurate company data to assess business opportunities,” Mr Walters said.

Mint Australia provides a comprehensive source of Australian business information, including:

  • Detailed financial statements on public and private businesses
  • Board composition and director/executive profiles
  • Corporate family tree and ownership analysis
  • Comprehensive media and news coverage
  • Detailed industry research and analysis

Angus Davidson, Deputy CEO, Bureau van Dijk, said the company chose to partner with Veda because of its market leading position. “Mint Australia will leverage Veda’s rich commercial databases to provide clients with comprehensive coverage of Australian businesses. By partnering with Veda, we can offer a leading number of marketable records, and a depth and reliability of financial statement data that is not available from other providers,” Mr Davidson said.

A select group of customers has been working with Veda and BvD to test and validate the Mint Australia capability in the Australian market place for several months. Feedback from this group has confirmed the market need and value of this offering.
