worldboxWorldbox, a global business intelligence company (and BIIA member), has announced it has taken over all of Orell Füssli Wirtschaftsinformationen AG (OFWI)’s international and domestic research activities.

The tie-up will see Worldbox (http://worldbox.net) – which operates from offices in London, Zurich, Beijing and Hong Kong – handle all OFWI corporate and private client orders for company record-sourcing, business investigations, credit-checking and due diligence operations.

Swiss-based OFWI, a long-standing provider of foreign and national business information, will continue to concentrate on developing its online services, while Worldbox will provide all of its offline research services.  (OFWI / Teledata was acquired by CRIF last week, see BIIA post)

Adrian Ashurst (1)Worldbox CEO, Adrian Ashurst, commented: “This partnership will bring increased business intelligence to OFWI customers, allowing them to clearly see who they are dealing with, minimise their risk, make informed choices and conform with regulatory requirements wherever they are doing business in the world”.

Makus Binzegger, OFWI CEO, stated: “Worldbox’s gateway to one of the world’s largest repositories of offline company information, as well as their unique business intelligence service in our home market of Switzerland will dramatically strengthen the services we offer clients.

“We can also now provide our cross-border customers with direct access to Worldbox’s unique network of investigation agents on the ground in developing countries, so they can receive reliable company information that would otherwise be unobtainable”.

About:  Worldbox Business Intelligence is an intelligence-gathering service based in Zurich, founded in 1996. Since its new online company search service went live late last year, it is, as of February, receiving upwards of 100,000 company information enquiries per month.
