Long-Time Cybersecurity Expert Will Lead ZoomInfo’s Security Team, Overseeing Physical and Digital Security and Privacy Efforts

ZoomInfo (NASDAQ: ZI), a global leader in modern go-to-market software, data, and intelligence, has announced the appointment of Tomer Gershoni as its Chief Security Officer.

Gershoni will lead ZoomInfo’s information security team, overseeing physical and digital security and privacy efforts and leading ZoomInfo’s work to safeguard internal and external company data.

He’ll work closely with Simon McDougall, ZoomInfo’s Chief Compliance Officer, and ZoomInfo’s privacy team to ensure the limited, non-sensitive data the company collects and stores remains protected. Gershoni will also serve as a resource for customers, advising them on best practices for accessing, processing, and possessing ZoomInfo’s data.

Gershoni holds a number of patents in the domain of privacy by design and information security risk management, has been published in and contributed to several information security-related academic papers, and is a Certified Information Security Manager.

Gershoni brings more than two decades of cybersecurity experience to this role. He served as Chief Information Security Officer and Head of Cyber Defense for the Israel National Cyber Directorate (INCD), a government organization, reporting directly to the prime minister, responsible for protecting companies and individuals from cyber attacks nationwide. As the INCD’s CISO, he was responsible for all cyber defense initiatives for both classified and unclassified operations. He also advised the organization on improving the country’s robustness for cyber security threats.

He also previously served as the Chief Products Security Officer of Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s (HPE) Software business unit and CISO for the company’s SaaS business, where he was responsible for protecting an enterprise software products portfolio of more than 100 different product lines and SaaS services.

Gershoni most recently served as Senior Director and Head of Security Engineering & Cyber Defense Center for Imperva, overseeing product and SaaS operations security while he built and executed the company’s cyber threats program.
