Atsi Sheth Appointed Chief Credit Officer for Moody’s Ratings

Moody’s Corporation announced that Atsi Sheth has been appointed Chief Credit Officer for Moody’s Ratings. She will assume responsibility for the Ratings & Process Oversight, Credit Strategy & Research, Methodology & Model Development, and Methodology Review groups.

“Atsi is remarkable at articulating credit narratives that clarify complex factors, and how these may interact to drive exponential risk,” said Michael West, President of Moody’s Ratings. “Her wealth of analytical experience and her trademark passion make Atsi the ideal leader to guide the firm’s views on credit.”

Ms. Sheth has held a series of analytical roles of increasing scope and responsibility at Moody’s, including as Managing Director in Moody’s Sovereign Risk Group, before rising to her current role as Head of Global Credit Strategy and Research for Moody’s Ratings. She will continue to hold this position until Moody’s Ratings names a successor in the near future.

Ms. Sheth holds a Ph.D. from Northwestern University and a B.A. from Bombay University. She has taught classes at Northwestern University and Columbia University.

Moody’s Ratings rates over $70 trillion of debt split between its four major rating groups:

  • Financial Institutions, co-headed by Ana Arsov and Simon Harris
  • Corporate Finance, headed by Myriam Durand
  • Structured Finance, headed by Annabel Schaafsma
  • Global Public, Project, and Infrastructure Finance, headed by Anne Van Praagh
