BIIA is an active member of B20 activities (the Business Part of the G20) such as the Digitation Task Force and the Cross-thematic Group on SMEs as previously reported by in recent BIIA Newsletters.
B20 Summit Report
On May 2nd and 3rd, 2017 the B20 Summit was held in Berlin. Over 700 guests from the G20 countries and beyond joined the conference for the official handover of the B20 policy recommendations to German Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel. The conference gave room to discuss the B20 policy recommendations with representatives from industry, government, civil society and international organizations on the most pressing global issues. B20 Outlook
- Activities around the G20 Summit in Hamburg
o In addition to a press release by Mr. Heraeus, Mr. Kempf, Mr. Kramer and Mr. Schweitzer, we are planning a contribution by Jürgen Heraeus and a joint B20 declaration on the significance of international cooperation.
o At the Summit, a small B20 team will have access to the press center to follow the developments and, above all, to actively participate in social media and press activities. Please follow our social media channels for updates.
- B20 Engagement Effectiveness Assessment to the G20
o Right after the G20 Summit, we assess the summit results and are working on a corresponding methodology to assess on how effectively our recommendations have been considered in the final G20 documents.
o A dedicated report will be issued.
- Evaluation B20
o We are also working on a comprehensive assessment of the German B20 presidency, including various aspects such as media response, advocacy activities and cooperation with other G20 engagement groups.

o B20 at IMF Fall Meeting
Before the G20 meeting in Hamburg, Germany the B20 organization will send an updated advocacy package.
