David Worlock, was recently honored by the Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers (ALPSP ), receiving the 2024 ALPSP Award for Contribution to Scholarly Publishing. He joins an esteemed and elite group of individuals who have made a difference in the field, and he continues to do so each day.
This Award recognizes outstanding individuals or organizations who have made a major contribution to scholarly publishing. Each year, ALPSP members are invited to submit nominationswhich are then reviewed by the ALPSP Board of Directors.
David Worlock, formerly owner of Electronic Publishing (UK)*, Paul Woodward, owner of BSG – Business Strategies Group (Hong Kong) and Joachim C Bartels owner of Intrepid Explorers, LLC (USA) formed the Business Information Industry Association Asia Pacific – Middle East Ltd. In July of 2005. The initial mission was to provide industry advocacy advice for business information companies in Asia and Middle East. David Worlock was one of the lead initiators and served as Chairman of the BIIA for several years.
Today BIIA is known as a global network for business information professionals and maintains one of the largest databases of business information news and regulatory developments.
* David Worlock sold Electronic Publishing (UK) to Outsell Inc., a research and advisory firm that provides fact-based analysis and advice to executives in the information, publishing, and education industries. In acquiring Electronic Publishing, Outsell Inc. continued as member and key contributor of BIIA.
