Indonesia Financial Services Authority (OJK) Seminar “International Seminar on Promoting Digital Finance Inclusion for Consumers and MSMEs through the Use of Credit Scoring”

BIIA was extremely pleased to be invited to attend and speak at the recent international seminar hosted by OJK (Indonesia Financial Services Authority) on promoting digital finance inclusion for consumers and MSMEs through the use of credit scoring.

The event brought together senior representatives from OJK, the three credit bureaus operating in Indonesia and the fintech credit scoring industry to discuss the synergy of public credit registry, private credit bureau and innovative credit scoring in driving financial inclusion enhancement.

At the seminar Neil Munroe, Managing Director of BIIA, in his capacity as Deputy Chair of the International Committee on Credit Reporting (ICCR), was invited to provide one of the opening addresses at the event on the General Principles for Credit Reporting – both the Bank of Indonesia and OJK are long standing members of the ICCR.

Peter Sheerin, Executive Committee member of BIIA was also asked to be part of a panel that discussed the role of Public Credit Registry and Private Credit Bureau in developing and supporting the financial ecosystem.

In taking part in this key seminar, BIIA was pleased to be able to support the work of its members in Indonesia who operate private credit bureaus- Pefindo, PT Click and CBI.

We look forward to working with OJK, the private credit bureaus and the fintech credit scoring industry in the future development of this critical part of the financial services eco- system to help improve digital financial inclusion in Indonesia.
