On Wednesday, July 9, 2025, KCB, together with the Korea Federation of SMEs and Korea Electric Power Corporation, The “Service Partnership for Inclusive Financial Support for Small Business Owners” agreement ceremony was held in the Leaders Room of the Yeouido Small Business Center.

The three organizations signed an agreement on “Development of a Credit Rating System and Policy Indicators for Financial Support for Small Businesses and Small Merchants” in August last year.

Afterwards, we combined and analyzed the unique data held by each organization to launch the “Alternative Credit Rating Model for Small Business Owners” for financially vulnerable small business owners.

This evaluation model is based on the Yellow Umbrella Mutual Aid subscription period, mutual aid fund contribution amount, electricity usage, electricity bill payment information, etc.

It evaluates the credit soundness of small business owners by combining various alternative credit information held by the Korea Federation of SMEs and KEPCO with business credit information held by KCB.

Compared to existing evaluation models exclusively for small business owners, it is characterized by a high level of discrimination against low and medium credit borrowers (grade 4 or lower).

In the future, the three organizations will not stop at this service partnership for inclusive financial support for small business owners.

We plan to promote various cooperative projects, such as “data-based joint research,” to develop detailed and meticulous policies for small and medium-sized enterprises and small business owners .
