SCHUFA Group’s revenue exceeds €300 million for the first time, increasing by 5.0% year-on-year // Strongest growth in the compliance and fraud prevention business areas // Strong growth in subscription products and launch of the SCHUFA account

Wiesbaden, April 22, 2026 – Despite persistently weak overall economic conditions, SCHUFA looks back on a successful 2025 financial year. The SCHUFA Group’s revenue, including its subsidiaries Forteil GmbH (bonify) and ClariLab GmbH (KYCnow), increased by 5.0% to €304.0 million (previous year: €289.5 million). Thanks to a one-off effect, the Group’s EBIT rose by 10% to €72.2 million compared to the previous year. This was primarily due to the sale of the open banking provider finAPI. Excluding this one-off effect, EBIT decreased by 11.2% to €61.0 million. This was due to continued high investments in the transformation of the business model and increased legal costs for successfully defending against data protection lawsuits, including those before the German Federal Court of Justice (BGH). SCHUFA Holding AG also increased its revenue by 2.8% to 293.4 million euros (previous year: 285.3 million euros).

Strong revenue growth in the areas of compliance and fraud prevention

The strategic diversification of SCHUFA’s business areas once again proved effective in 2025. The growth areas of compliance and fraud prevention developed particularly strongly. Group revenue in the compliance business segment increased by more than half compared to the previous year, rising by 56.3% from €6.2 million to €9.7 million. KYCnow powered by SCHUFA established itself as a growth driver in this area. This further strengthens SCHUFA’s position as one of the leading providers of Know Your Customer (KYC) services in Germany for the prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing. The Group also achieved revenue growth in the fraud prevention business segment, increasing by 24.9% to €15.7 million (previous year: €12.5 million). The majority of this growth stemmed from the Fraud Pool 2.0, a new system developed by SCHUFA in the previous fiscal year, which generates approximately 126,000 alerts per day for participating banks and companies.

The core business area of creditworthiness, which includes traditional credit reports and scoring information, grew by 2.8% in 2025 to €252.3 million (previous year: €245.3 million), while the identification business area increased by 4.1% to €22.8 million (previous year: €21.9 million). The share of the growth areas of identification, fraud prevention, and compliance in group revenue continued to rise year-on-year, reaching 15.9% in 2025 (previous year: 14%).

Tanja Birkholz, CEO of SCHUFA“2025 was another challenging year – economically, regulatory, and technologically. The fact that SCHUFA was still able to achieve significant growth demonstrates the strength of our transformation ,” says Tanja Birkholz, CEO of SCHUFA“Our growth areas of compliance and fraud prevention, in particular, are developing with great momentum and confirm our strategic direction: SCHUFA is more than just creditworthiness. In 2026, we will continue on our path: more transparent, more digital, and even closer to the needs of consumers, corporate clients, and businesses.”

Strong growth in subscription products and launch of the SCHUFA account.

Revenue from the business customer segment grew by 3.9% to €213.1 million in 2025 (previous year: €205.1 million). Growth drivers were primarily the areas of fraud prevention and compliance. Revenue from private customers increased by 7.8% year-on-year, from €83.2 million to €89.7 million. Subscription product revenue saw a strong increase of 23.5% to €36.7 million (previous year: €29.3 million), driven by customer growth and pricing measures. At the end of the year, 700,000 customers were using subscription models from SCHUFA and its subsidiary Forteil GmbH. This represents an increase of 83,000 customers. This growth underscores the added value of subscription products for consumers, such as the more comprehensive update service for changes in their personal data, the daily updated credit score, and services for protection against identity fraud.

In 2025, SCHUFA continued its customer-centric approach and further increased the transparency and traceability of its scoring. An important technological milestone on the way to the new SCHUFA score, launched in 2026, was the… Launch of the new SCHUFA account. Since December 2025, in addition to viewing their data via the data copy or using the bonify platform, private individuals have also been able to easily and free of charge obtain an overview of their quarterly updated data via the newly launched SCHUFA account in the freemium model. Since the launch of the new SCHUFA score on March 17th, more than 900,000 new users have been registered for SCHUFA and bonify (as of April 20th, 2026).

Furthermore, the new rules of conduct for the review and storage periods of personal data, also known as the Code of Conduct (CoC), were implemented and put into effect on schedule by January 1, 2025.
