CRIF Gulf Managing Director, Manjeet Chhabra, and Leroy Pinto, Marketing Director, attended the 9th meeting of the Arab Regional Fintech Working Group, which took place on May 23-24, 2023 in Abu Dhabi, sharing his opinions on the evolving regional ESG landscape and its crossover with credit assessments.
The meeting was attended by senior officials responsible for modern financial technologies in central banks, financial market authorities, and stock exchanges in Arab countries. Representatives from regional and international financial institutions participated, as well as several research centers and universities.
Experts in modern financial technologies at regional and global levels, and pioneers of modern financial technology companies in the Arab region were also present.
During the meeting, the group discussed the future of the financial system in light of modern financial technologies, including policy options and enhancing the responsiveness of regulatory and supervisory frameworks to digital transformation needs. The discussions also covered the applications in the financial sector of modern green and sustainable financial technologies, central bank digital currencies and the monetary system, regulatory and supervisory frameworks for crypto-financial assets and the associated risks and open financial and banking services, 
open data, and data governance.
