Credit fraud carried out through identity theft, with the subsequent unlawful use of others’ personal and financial data to obtain credit or acquire assets and with the premeditated intention not to repay the loan and not pay the well. Overall, the estimated damage reaches 124.6 million euros, substantially stable compared to 2020, since the higher number of cases corresponds to a simultaneous decrease in the average amount of fraud, which stands at 4,350 euros.

To meet the needs of increasingly digital users who are not always aware of the risks associated with the web, Deutsche Bank has decided to launch a service for the protection of personal data and against identity theft. To do this, it has chosen to offer its customers the CRIF IDENTINET service, which protects them against identity theft aimed at credit fraud, constantly monitors their personal data and promptly warns them in the event of overexposure of data on public sites or in the in case they are found on the dark web.

“We have further strengthened the partnership with CRIF by making IDENTINET available to our customers, a service of great value, much appreciated for its usefulness and timeliness and which can also be easily used via the App”, said Eleonora Perotti, Head of B2B/Head of Issuing & Acquiring at Deutsche Bank.
